Looking back

This package of work is one we completed quite a few years ago. A wonderful collaboration between the architecture firm of Stan Dixon, the Howards Design Studio of landscape architect John Howards, with construction led by Rich Sokolowski of RLS Construction.

It was an older home that underwent a complete transformation over the course of the project. The results were amazing and beautiful, thanks to the passion and talent of this incredible team.

For me, this was an important project in my tenure as a craftsman. It galvanized my realization of how essential collaboration is. With such outsized talent in your building and design teams, you are able to take on this level of complicated and intricate effort.

One of the many gifts my work as an artisan maker has given me is this opportunity to work with such brilliance. This occurs both within my own shop, working with an ever growing and evolving staff, as well as with ambitious productions such as this particular job site where we were fortunate to be part of the team. These living works of art, where every detail has been considered, would not be possible without visionary clients and countless hours of creativity, passion, and labor executed by individuals I have long since considered it an honor to work shoulder to shoulder with.
